May is Brain Cancer Awareness Month. A time when we “Go Grey” to support the more than 700,000 Americans living with a brain tumor. At KSS Insurance, this isn’t just another awareness month on the calendar—it is a deeply personal mission rooted in the memory of a remarkable woman.

This month, we are proud to spotlight the Beth Boone Buech Foundation (BBBF) and their Champions of Hope campaign. As we work to turn awareness into the breakthroughs that patients so desperately need.

The Fight Against Glioblastoma

The Beth Boone Buech Foundation was established in honor of Beth, who fought a courageous battle against Glioblastoma (GBM). GBM is the most aggressive form of brain cancer, known for its complexity and the speed at which it impacts families.

Because GBM is so difficult to treat, research is the only path forward. Every dollar raised through the foundation helps the brilliant minds at the IU Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center study the biology of these tumors to find more effective therapies and, eventually, a cure.

The Champions of Hope Campaign

The Champions of Hope campaign is the heartbeat of the foundation. It is a community-driven effort to fund the research that provides real hope for patients right here in Indiana. At KSS Insurance, we see these “Champions” as more than just donors—they are the fuel for the next medical milestone.

By participating, you are directly supporting:

  • Innovative Clinical Trials: Access to the latest therapies in Indianapolis.
  • Specialized Research: Targeted studies into the unique nature of Glioblastoma.
  • Patient Advocacy: Helping families navigate the heavy physical and emotional toll of a diagnosis.

Save the Date: Men Wear Pink Golf Outing

While we “Go Grey” in May, we are also looking forward to the foundation’s largest and most spirited fundraising event of the year: the Men Wear Pink Golf Outing.

Held on the first Friday in October—falling close to Beth’s birthday—this event is a celebration of her life and a massive community effort to fund a cure. It’s a day of pink shirts, friendly competition, and a shared commitment to making sure no other family has to walk the GBM path alone.

Mark your calendars for October 2, 2026, and stay tuned for registration details!

A Personal Note from Steve & Karl

When we talk about “Partnership for Life” at KSS, this is the deepest expression of that value. We don’t just want to protect your assets; we want to protect the people you love. Beth’s legacy continues to inspire us to be better advocates for our clients and our community.

We invite you to support the Champions of Hope this month. Let’s make May 2026 a month of progress and support.
